Amy Vaughan

I'm a natural do-gooder.

Amy Vaughan takes her “big sister” role seriously. As a former camp counselor and “Official Neighborhood Babysitter”, she enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with anyone who can benefit from it.

Why this is so important to her: “I have always felt that I must be a responsible and positive influence for not just my younger siblings but also their friends. They watch and often imitate everything you do. I want that to be a good thing.”

What inspires her to help others: “It’s pretty simple. It makes me feel good. From the age of 9, I learned to appreciate the feeling I get from helping others out, rather than tearing them down.”

Her goal for this program: “To get girls talking about the things we should be talking about and comfortable when doing so!”

The best advice she’s ever received: “Gandhi once told me, ‘Learn as if you would live forever, live as if you would die tomorrow.’ Okay, okay. Not to me directly. But I try to live by it!”

What she does when she’s not helping with this cause: Amy is a writer and self-proclaimed “coffee snob” with a passion for creating latte art and pouring the perfect espresso.

Additional passions: Travel, writing, reading, nature photography, yoga, running, music, cooking and nutrition.
