Having an architecture background gave Intan Syahrun the fundamentals to understand the construction of a structure, but her passion in arts is what sets her buildings apart from her peers. For her, art is a vacuum – something that she can be totally sucked into, without worry of the result. Will it turn out good or bad? That is all part of the discovery.
“A great design needs to be functional and aesthetically exciting. Combining my architecture background with my love of arts have given me a new pair of lens to look at this world. It’s taught me to blur the edges, change the mould and colour outside of the box. The fluidity of art can give a concrete structure like a building a softer exterior while making its inhabitants feel cozy, happy and comfortable.”
