As a young girl, Amirah Irdina has always loved singing and performing. Music has been a loyal companion throughout her life, and she started writing her own music at 11 to combat the feeling of loneliness and sadness.
Learning to create her own music has given her strength and taught her to be independent. But having experienced first-hand what music can do for people in marginalised pockets – forging connections and celebrating camaraderie – drives her to continuously produce more tunes.
“I want to make music that inspire other people to be themselves, because that's what music did for me. I want to make music that people can relate to, to know that they're not alone; music that helps people through rough times like the ones I listen to when I'm in a tough spot in life. I want to make good music that sends positive messages. I also believe that music is capable of uniting people.
Last, but definitely not least, I want to show the world that Malaysia has a lot of talented songwriters too.”
To ease her into her musical journey, we’ve backed her talents with our resources. With her funds,
she can now afford to furnish her at home mini-studio with essentials like a proper microphone, a keyboard midi set and recording software that helps improve sound quality.
